Bloated text editors are a dime a dozen. That is if the dime is large made of gold and has a street value of around 200.00 dollars. They rhyme with Microsoft Word, Star Office and does anyone still use Word Perfect?

Leopard leaping in June

Posted in Programs, Apple/Mac by admin on the May 18th, 2007

According to Think Secret:  Apple is currently planning to release Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard in June, mostly likely at or around its Worldwide Developers Conference, reliable sources report.  This runs counter to other stories that have come out saying that Leopard is still bug riddled and is needing much more development time.

icon-audiobookbuilder.jpgI listen to a lot of audiobooks.

I have a stack of them and I check them out from my local library with startling regularity. I spend 2 to 3 hours a day on the road. Time that I use to feel was lost to the expressway, never to recouped. So I listen to audio books on all my favorite subjects and genres. I have my 60 gig G5 iPod loaded with them. If you listen to ripped audiobooks on your iPod you know the problems in doing so. You have special playlists for them and hundreds perhaps thousands of individual tracks. None of which appear in the audiobooks category on your iPod. I found this very annoying but could do nothing about it.

Then I discovered Audiobook Builder from Splasm Software.

It supports Book Cover image files. Making it very easy to insert a book cover into the files with the books title and authors name.

screenshotaudio-cover.jpgWith this handy little program you can rip audiobook cds or individual mp3 files to the audiobook file format .m4b with chapters. Say you have one hundred files from ten cd’’s. You can keep them all as individual files or join the files by cd or join all the files into a single file. You can also add chapters to the files, this makes it very easy to jump around in the file.screenshotaudio-chapters.jpgI highly recommend this application for the iPod owning audiobook loverAudiobook Builder is 9.95 from Splasm Software.’, ‘Audiobook Builder’, 0, ‘icon-audiobookbuilder.jpgI listen to a lot ofaudiobooks.
